Pure Leather

Pure Leather by fra3

Designers are already sharing their Pre-Fall 2014 collections but what should we expect from Spring Summer 2014?
When it comes to shoes the answer is... Nappa Leather!
From Tory Burch to Valentino, the leit motif is the same.
Giuseppe Zanotti presents his "Viennese Straw" decoration while Proenza Schouler seems to opt out for a braided one ;)

Tie Dye Nails!

Posted on 21 maggio 2013

My Favorite Beauty DIY

My Favorite Beauty DIY by fra3

I've already explained how to create an ombre-degradé manicure and this time I'm dedicating this post o a similar effect, "Tie Dye"!

It was the pattern beloved by hippies in the 70s and now it has become very popular!
The skill is very close to the one of the marble art but you don't need water or glasses just a toothpick ;)
You'll have to draw the typical Tie Dye pattern on the nail polish already applied on the nail, to do this apply first the golden shade, than the medium blue and then the darkest blue as in the set above; you must be quite fast (don't let the laquer dry!) and in the point where 2 different shades touch go zigzag with you toothpick in order to blend them just a bit.
It's easier to do than to explain! You only need to try! :)

If you prefer something easier to use and with a garanteed result, YSL has created
 four "Tie Dye" top coats!

YSL La Laque Couture Tie & Die Top Coat Collection

YSL's La Laque Couture Tie & Dye Top Coat Collection is the first-ever nail polish that comes with three tones in one bottle! The collection of four new nail polishes features a fun twist, each polish is composed of 3 separate layers, for 3 different finishes in one application! The sparkle, solid and clear gloss finishes sit in three layers in the bottle; you can either slide out the brush smoothly for a dip-dyed gradient effect, or you can shake up the mixture to create another look. For now the limited edition collection comes in just four colors : Cool (watermelon), Pop (pink), Hip (lilac) and Ice (blue). It's already a must and it's sold out at the official Ysl Make Up website ;)

Met Gala 2013: Confirmed Designers

Posted on 6 maggio 2013

The 2013 Costume Institute Benefit for the Metropolitan Museum of Art or just the Met Gala has just begun. This year celebs are going to celebrate the Punk: Chaos to Couture exhibit so we're expexting their look to be in line with a rock-punk style and this couldn't make me happier ;)
Here are the confirmed designer choosen by the celebrities:
Model Lily Cole will wear a dress by the most celebrated punk designer Vivienne Westwood, Julianne Moore will wear Balenciaga by Alexander Wang (let's remind that this is the first collaboration between Wang and the brand, the previous colaboration with Nicholas Gesquiere has ended with the last collection); Gisele Bundchen will wear Anthony Vaccarello while Miranda Kerr will wear Michael Kors, Emma stone will wear Tory Burch, the beautiful Amber Heard will wear Emilio Pucci and Anna Wintour will wear Chanel Couture.
But there's more!
The most important sponsor of the event, Moda Operandi has previously collaborated with Balmain and Nina Ricci, to mention but a few, to make the Red Carpet looks available for shopping!

But this is not enough!
Some brands created some items inspired to the exhibit and to a strong punk attitude!                                                                                                                                                      Here are the Limited Edition heels by Charlotte Olympia (in collaboration with jewel designer Tom Binns ) created to celebrate this punk night!

Tomorrow I'll be writing a review of the best styles seen on the Red Carpet, do't forget to watch the Gala in streeming at www.vogue.com !

Flamingos!

Posted on 30 aprile 2013

Flamingos are definetely everywhere!
T-shirts, tank tops, necklaces, bags and heels too!
I love them because of their hot pink colour and because even though we can't say they're actually beautiful animals (Just my opinion but I don't like their pick at all ;)!) they're elegant and a well-known romantic symbol.
H&M created a tank top with two flamingos making a heart with their long necks ;) It's a cute item and what makes it even more interesting is that it glows in the dark!
Vans Flamingo Trucker is perfect for these first days at the beach with sporty and basic outfits.
Tory Burch is the designer who has dedicated more items to these animals; on the left of the set there's the iPad case with the golden logo of the brand and on the right, the small pochette with a shy flamingo.
Juicy Couture's pochette looks like a drawing and it's a bit more elegant.
Dealing with jewelry, there are many sparkling pieces dedicated to flamingos this season and I've choosen to show you just 2: the necklace by Swarovski and the cuff bracelet by Roberto Cavalli.
And now the last accessory: HEELS!
Sophia Webster has created an ankle tie sandals with lovely flamingos on the front part of the shoes! She's one of the best shoe designer of the moment and this sandal it's an amazing piece!
